  • Ciaran Clissmann is a director of Pintail Ltd. He has been involved in EU projects since 1991, writing proposals, managing work-packages and taking part in reviews. During 1999 and 2000 he worked as an expert in the Commission services in Brussels. In the last three years he has built and led a company team with a strong track record of EU project support – Pintail is currently involved in the administration, dissemination and exploitation planning of fourteen FP7 projects, from Ireland, Italy, the UK and Denmark, in a role similar to that planned for VISICORT. Ciaran has given presentations and training on EU project management on behalf of Enterprise Ireland (the Irish body which stimulates FP7 activity among the Irish SME and university communities) and acted as a best practice exemplar for Irish conferences in this area. He is an occasional contributor to the national “Technology Ireland” publication, which provides guidelines and support to organisations considering or delivering involvement in the Framework. He has acted as an evaluator and rapporteur for the eContentPlus and EuroStars programmes of the EU.
  • Kylie O’Brien is a consultant with Pintail Ltd. She received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota where she worked on an NIH funded research project. Kylie also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University College Dublin and the National University of Ireland Maynooth on an HRB funded research project. For a number of years, Kylie worked as a scientific editor supporting research scientists in the preparation and scientific manuscripts for publication and grant proposals. In addition to her academic experience, she spent a number of years in the pharmaceutical industry where she was involved in technology transfers, protocol/report generation and project management.
